Life with MS need not be rafted on a gloomy pool of regret and self-absorption. This wonderful book shows how one very dear soul has learned to trim her sails in adversity and press ahead for the open water of a life filled with love and joy. Like a fresh breeze, the book inspires courage and compassion as it sets us on course for a great cruise with a true skipper.
Further to comments already shared, I have to add the emotional engagement of this particular work. River has an open, in your face approach to her struggle with MS and her positive attitude and will to overcome makes her a shining example for those suffering or coming to terms with their own journey. The tears are real, but so are the belly laughs...you will be completely engaged by this work, and you will be a better, more sympathetic and understanding person after reading, if you are not aware of this disease and how it can effect those who have been diagnosed and the impact on loved ones as well. It is strength, compassion, empathy, sympathy and humor...it is a five start read!
